Additional research revealed that Friedrich's parents were Gottlieb Zacharias (1840 - 1892) and Emilie Neumann(1848-?). They were Protestant (Lutheran). There were 10 children - Ottilie, Marie, Anna, Friedrich, Berta, Ludwig, Wilhelm, Martha, Carl, and Johann. Friedrich was born at Neuzedlitz, Posen while Carl and Wilhelm at Szemborowo which is about 5 miles from Neuzedlitz(the present name of the town is Ruchocin). Fritz's grandfather was Michael. Fritz and perhaps others moved to Ruhr Valley to work in coal mines where he earned passage to Texas(via New York)in 1904. I am interested in more information about Gottlieb, Emilie and Michael in Posen area. Also, about how and why Fritz and others moved to Ruhr Valley in Germany in 1890s.
