Frank and Emma Xander were my grandparents (died before I was born). My dad was William Owen Xander, their son. His sister was Juanita; the other two siblings are unknown to me. Juanita was a parakeet breeder in Norwalk, CA, whom I met in 1960 when I was 6.

My dad was born in New Harmony, Indiana 9/20/12; he died 3/15/84. His wife (my mom) Beulah (Hamon) Xander was born 11/1/18 and is still alive -- and feisty! New Harmony was founded in the late 1700s/early 1800s by Robert Owen, who had a successful and innovative industrial/commercial commune in England called Harmony. He worked people in shifts, had profit-sharing, and other "modern" concepts.

He brought Pennsylvania Deutsch (German) setttlers to Indiana, tried the same concept there, but failed. I learned all of this in my first semester in college in a Western Civ. course. New Harmony IN and my dad's weird middle name "Owen" clicked all at once!

I have two older brothers: William Paul Xander (4/10/43 - ), Michael Terrence ("Terry") Xander (4/20/47 - ) and a younger sister Patricia Kathleen (Xander) Scott (3/13/57 - ). I was born 7/12/54. I have a 9-yr-old daughter Kristen Anne Xander (11/9/91) and an 11-yr-old son -- and bearer of he family name, the only one in our family! -- Ian Joseph Xander (11/22/89).

This possibly more than ANYONE wants to know, but I figured I'd add our two cents' worth. I'd be very interested in any info about Frank and Emma Xander -- their forebears, etc. Thanks!
