Dear Bob:

I came across your posting by accident and I see that my cousin, David replied to your posting in 2001. Not sure if you even check this site any more, but if you do, I am the daughter or Richard Jack Winmill, the eldest of the 3 sons of Harry Winmill who married Lena Kershaw.

My father, Jack, was born in Ilford, England September 9, 1916 and he and his parents, Harry and Lena and his younger brother Harry (born June 27, 1918) moved to Wawa, Ontario Canada in 1920 or thereabouts.

My grandfather, Harry Winmill, died in 1926 I believe, when my father was 10 yrs old. Within 2 years, Lena took her 3 sons back to England and approximately a year later, moved back to Ontario.

My granparents are buried in Fonthill, part of the township of Pelham, near Niagara Falls. I believe that Lena passed away in 1954 or 1955.

As my cousin David mentioned, in his response to you, our Uncle Harry is the family historian, but I understand that my mother, Betty Jean Winmill (nee McIntyre) has some old photographs as well as names and dates that she gleaned from my uncle.

Uncle Harry is still living, but his memory is failing him badly these days. If you have any requests for further information, please contact me at my email address below and I will do my best to respond quickly.

Yours truly,

Jacklynn Winmill
