I am desc from the Waddells of Columbia, SC.
Robert Waddell came over in 1820 from Ireland, married
Eliza Beckett after 1828 when he was naturalized.
They lived in Columbia and had 3 sons:
George Henry Waddell who ended up in Abbeville, SC and
married Clough Sims
Robert Beckett Waddell who I have no defintive data on
James Davis Waddell, my great grandfather, who ended up
in Thomson, GA and married Cassandra S. Smith
Robert, Eliza and several relatives including Robert's mother are buried in the cemetary of the First Presbyterian Church in Columbia.
Buried with them is someone named Margaret C. Bargar(n)
The stone is very worn and I am not sure if it ends with an
"r" or and "n".
Her birth date is not clear but she died in 1889.
Also, my father's brother John Darwin Waddell married Thelma Naomi St. John. I have a little more on her family but it is not here right now.
