The middle name of my Waddell antecedents was always Smellie (indeed those known to me were always John Smellie Waddell). The earliest of whom I have knowledge married a Mary Logan on Dec 13th 1816 at Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire . Their eldest son , also John Smellie Waddell, was born at Kilpatrick in 1825, married a Jean Buchanan and farmed Myerton Farm, near Kippen in Stirlingshire. News of any connections would be welcomed and I would happily fill in all that followed in this family for anyone interested,
