Hi everyone, My gggrandmother Bethea BROWNLIE (BROWNLEE) has the following details on her birth certificate. Past enquiries I have made regarding "Waddell's Land" have concluded that houses had been built on land owned originally by WADDELL folk. February 1st 1858 Bethea BROWNLIE Parents Jean, nee BLACK Claud ?Glaud BROWNLIE born at Waddell's Land, New Dundyvan, Middle District, Old Monkland, Lanark I am interested as follows a. To find out exactly where my gggrandmother was born b. To see if there is any connection between WADDELL's and my gggrandmothers extended family. c. I noticed that Lynn Gibson has some similar family names to my Grandmothers line of first names. that is, Bethea, Grace, Janet/Jean and so on. d. To offer info from my cousin, who recalls our Grandfather bringing home an old man from living pretty rough by himself, and putting him up in a small shed so he could keep an eye on him and also feed him. Noelene is older than me and can remember taking out meals to Mr WADDELL, or as the kids called him WADDLE, as ducks walk. This was in Helensville, about 30 miles north of Auckland, NZ. (about 1940s/1950s) e. To offer this information as it may assist other WADDELL researchers site their ancestors. f. I also noted that another contributor had a WADDELL married to a ?Gembal, can't recall exactly how it was spelt but my gggrandmother married a GEMMELL. Cheers, Brenda Notify Administrator about this message?
