Hi Carol,
I was born Ellen Wachtel in Cleveland to Solomon & Judith (Klein) Wachtel. My Dad was also born in Cleveland. My brother, Gordon, lives in Palo Alto.
His parents met and married in Germany but were from Austria Hungary.
My grandfather William 'Wolf' Meir Wachtel came from somewhere outside of Pshemeshl.
Their 3 surviving children included my father and his 2 brothers Lee (no offspring) and Bernard. Uncle Barney had 2 sons - Joel Wachtel (an eye surgeon who died about 2 years ago) at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio and Eugene Wachtel, an attorney, in: Northbrook, IL!
Gene has a Wachtel family tree his brother researched.
