I think your George Vair was born in 1802 and christened in 1803. He had an older brother James chr. 1801 and sisters Janet chr. 1808 and Margaret chr 1811, and perhaps others in between.
Their parents are Thomas Vair and Janet Burnet, married in February 1800. Thomas Vair I believe was born/christened in 1768, his parents were James Vair and Peggy Cochran, married in 1767.
Hoping this is of use to you, or perhaps it ties in with what you have discovered yourself.
I can't actually establish where your family joins mine, but I don't have the slightest doubt that they do, somewhere a wee bit further back.
It is fascinating to discover these Vairs all over the world. Here in Scotland I know of none left with the surname, but my aunt, who still lives near Melrose, has Vair as a Christian name - very unusual!
