Charlie,
The source for parents of Oscar Verner Vaden are on the death certificate (B38p1) in the Bedford Co. Courthouse. Name of father is given as J.W. Vaden and maiden name of mother is Beulah Bond. The birth certificate (B30p66) for Emma gives father's name as Jay William Vaden and mother's name as Beulah G. (looks like a "G") Bond.

Most Virginia birth and death certificates are located in Richmond after 1912, however, for some reason Bedford Co. retained a small number of certificates after 1912. The certificates for the other children should be in Richmond.

Most copies in the Bedford Courthouse are 50 cents but more recent marriages are 2 or 3 dollars (not sure of the exact amount) so birth and death certificate costs could be the same as marriages. You can contact Karen, a clerk at the Bedford Courthouse, and she could tell you the exact amount or I can inquire next trip.

I forgot to mention that on the death certificate for Oscar, length of residence at place of death was given as 6 mos. Apparently, the Vaden family had recently moved from Montgomery Co. to Bedford Co.

Pat
