Dear Bill: Have just recently joined this particular genealogical outfit and ran across correspondence of interest to my Tackaberry lineage of which yours is one. Although this specific message is now some 7 years old, I hope you are still tracking down the Tackaberry's.
I am having some difficulty in tracking the Irish side of my Tackaberry ancestry. I believe Benjamin Tackaberry is one of our lineage, but we have Benjamins married to Rachel Coad (which we tracked down on our trip to the UK last a year ago.) and then to Elizabeth and also several others. Would appreciate any information you could provide.
What we have so far is as follows: My birth mother Arreta died when I was 2 years old and my sister and I were adopted by her sister (Janet Thurlow) However, my father was Cecil Tackaberry married to Arretta Bourk. Cecil was born May 24, 1891 in Oxford Mills in Ontario and died in Edmonton in June 11th, 1962. His father was John F. Tackaberry, born in Oxford Mills 1865 and died in 1937 (married Katie Lamrock)John's Father was Benjamin Tackaberry, born1826 in Elizabethtown,Ontario and died Oct. 16th, 1913 in Kemptville, Ontario
Here is where it gets tricky. We thought that Benjamin's father was Benjamin Tackaberry born abt 1785Wexford County and was married to Rachel Coad born abt1796.
