Hi Ted,
I can't remember what year the Danish relative O'Hara-Taaffe was living, but I just searched online & found this book which may interest your father in law (and other Taaffes);
I found it in The National Library of Ireland .
Author: Taaffe, Karl Graf.
Title: "Memoirs of the Family of Taaffe"
Published: 1856, Vienna (M. Auer)
PP. 372
Subjects: Taaffe Family; Carlingford, (Theobald Taaffe 1st Earl of; Taaffe, Franz Graf; Taaffe, Nicolaus Graf; Taaffe, Johann Philipp Graf.

The "call number" is J9292.

And Graf is German for Count.
The Yeksi we knew (Alexander) was a Count as well (we very very impressed!).
Is any of this any use to anyone?
Rhoda
