I've been doing family research and came across your post. I am William Palmer Maclay's granddaughter. His daughter, Regina,(Famous was her married name) was my grandmother. She just died last May 2002 in New Jersey. Her brother, William Heddinger Maclay, died in New Jersey in either 1995 or 1996. Her sister, Katherine, is also deceased, but I don't know when. I know that she is the grandmother of t.v. actor Grant Shaud (from Murphy Brown) All together, there were around 8 children born to William Palmer Maclay & Daisey Heddinger Maclay, but Regina, Katherine, & William were the only 3 who lived to adulthood.
William Palmer Maclay received the MOH on March 11, 1902.
He and his wife settled in Philadelphia, PA, which is where my grandmother, my mother & I were born.
