For those searching for photos of relatives who served in past wars (including Civil War),the Army Military History Institute has a treasury of over a million photos, with thousands searchable on the their website below. Use the submittal form to request a search on individual soldiers, regimental photos, or other group photos. Copies of photos are available at nominal charge. I found the only known photo of my gggrandfather in their Civil War collection.
