My g-grandfather, George William Williams enlisted in Co. A, 53rd TN, was captured in Dec 1863. He was sent to Rock Island, from where he volunteered for Union service in the 3rd Rgt, US Volunteer Infantry (Co.G). I have his original Union Army discharge. Good luck finding the complete roster.
