William A. Crane was in the Federal Forces, Unasd. 5. Tenn. Cav. according to the application for pension by his widow, Mary W. (Crane) Crane. He was born in Kentucky and seems to have joined the Federal Army in Tennessee.
No one, not even the National Archives, knows anything about the unit he joined. Does anyone out there have any knowledge of it? His descendants would like to know where and when he was killed. He did not return from war.
