Can you lookup a name for me, as having served in the Seminole War? I know that my ancestor received a widow's pension for her husband's service in the Civil War. William A. Broadway or Broadaway or Bradway born about 1820, probably in Sumter Co., SC He, his wife Susan, and their eldest daughter appear on the 1840 Newmansville, Alachula, FL census. We've been told that Susan was part Native American and that he knew his way around the waterways and could deal with the Indians. We've tested Susan's maternal line of DNA and that's not Native American. So, it would have to be on her Father's side if it's true. Thank you for your help!
