I must apologise for not answering sooner. My husband passed away and I have been trying to cope and deal with this for a while now.
As for Gertrude Britz. Gertrude Britz was my grand fathers sister. His name was William Britz. I most recently sent all this information to my youngest son so the dates escape me at this time. My Grandfather was raised in DeHenis Texas as a boy and spoke German and Spanish before he ever spoke english. He was one of either 8 or 9 kids and if memory serves me right it was 8 and 3 of them were sisters. Gertrude was one of the older children.
