There are several George Washington Rains' in my ancestry however, I cannot locate one with the dates you give.
As an example, I have a George Washington Rains born in Warren County, TN in 1823 and died 10 Jan 1883 in Marshall, TX.
Questions: Are you certain about dates?
Did your George Washington Rains live in TN, LA Or TX? If so what counties or parish?
