Yes, the dwelling address on the 1881 census is 90 Gooch Street. I had even penciled in that this Emma Rabone was probably Emma Bennett.. based on the marriage record; I appreciate your having some information to confirm that suspicion. According to the British marriage index, his name was William Francis Rabone and they were married between Apr and June 1873 in Birmingham. Their marriage record can be ordered from the General Register Office, http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ Volume 6d, pg. 121. The 1881 household, which you can see on www.familysearch.org, lists both parents, 2 daughters, and a servant: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Age Birthplace Occupation Disability William F. But I think we could put our heads together and find some info. I am a descendant of George Rabone and Sarah Arrowsmith who were married 30 Dec 1840 at the Parish Church of Bunbury in Chester County (Cheshire). According to their marriage certificate, George's father's name was John. Another researcher has some evidence that George is the son of John Rawbone and Hannah Allcock. George would have changed the Rawbone name (which was Rabond on the marriage certificate) to Rabone. Just doing a little bit of research, I could speculate that you are also a Rawbone descendant. I say this because there is a William of about the right age to be your great-grandfather listed as a nephew in the home of Dinah Green in 1871. Dinah appears to be the widow of Joseph Green based on earlier censuses. On familysearch.org, there is an 1851 marriage entry for Joseph Green and Dinah Rawbone. The best way to confirm William's (and Emma's) parents would be to order the marriage certificate from 1873. Keep me posted on what you find. Notify Administrator about this message?
