This couple are my great-great grandparents from Ballyduff,
Ireland. They belonged to the Carnmoney Presbyterian Church.
They were the parents of 8 children of which four were born
in Carnmoney and four children were born in PA. Their children's names were: Hannah, Andrew, John, and George Alexander were born in Ireland between 1832 and 1849.
Maria, Nancy, Elizabeth (Elixa) and Ellen Jane Querey were
all born in PA. This couple were born in Carnmoney, Antim,
Ireland and were married about 1837. William died about
1858-1870 in PA. Jannet or Jane died in 1903. Their son
John R.Query/Querey fought in the famous Civil War Battle of Gettysburg,PA. He died on 3 July 1863 there.
As a little bit of backgroung for this family group, Jannet
Rodgers Querey was very well known for her clothing designs
of Ballgowns and Civil War Uniforms and had a thriving
business in Philadelphia, for a long while. She was very
successful but eventually, the presence of the John Wannamaker Clothing stores cut into her business and she
closed it forever; not being ablt to compete with such a large chain of stores. This family lived in the area of
the Philadelphia 26th Ward, 86th District in 1870's.
Hoping to connect with descendants of this couple and
their children and of course cousins too.to share info.
