Any one run across JAMES ADAMS WALTERS as part of the Quantrill Raiders? He was born 22 April,1816 in Illinois. Keep his background a mystery to his family and said upon his death he would disclose his secrets. First wife, Dorothy Kill/Keal (3 children, Kate m.Estle Bittle or Biddle).Wife #2 Sara Ellen Stringer.(2 children).He left her,said she was a vexin woman & the last he saw of her he was riding away on his horse. Wife#3 Eliza Howdyshell, she died in childbirth w/ 3rd child. She had son, Perry Taylor from previous marriage. Wife#4 Margaret Lynch was 1/2 Cherokee. Family legend states that #1 w/Dorothy Kill was hung for not disclosing James's whereabouts. He also had a brother, Thomas W. that was killed in Civil War. He moved around a lot. Even lived in Cherokee Nation.Parents were James & Mary Walters. Thanks for any help!
