Hi,
I have found a Robert Quail born in Kilmarnock in 1860 born to John and Elizabeth Quail. My grandfather was also William Quail born in Glasgow in 1861 to John and Jane Quail, John quail was born in Kilsyth in 1831. The origin of the Quail name is Manx,so you will find then in England,Scotland and Ireland as well as on the Isle of Man
