(it is however pronounced quail). I haven't researched beyond this spelling at this point, with the exception of known members of my great grandfather's family that changed the spelling to QUAILE. Would definitely be interesting to determine if we are somehow connected. When did your gg move to Australia? Was he born in New Brunswick?
