Deanna, Thank you for the posting. I do have quite a bit of history to share on the Quackenbush-Gardiner line. Over the last five years I have been researching the Civil War history of Barnard C. Gardner (GG-grandfather)who lived in Addison, NY after the war. Barnard was a sergeant in the 1st Regiment Berdan Sharpshooters from 1861 to 1865. I have been to his grave site in Addison (Addison Rural Cemetery) and photographed the grave sites of H.W. Gardner and Angeline B. Gardner on Orr Hill in Addison. My cousin, Bonnie, lives in Addison and together we have been working on the Gardner-Quackenbush line. The spelling of Gardiner was changed at some point around the Civil War. When Barnard enlisted his name was first spelled Gardiner and then changed to Gardner. Last May I traveled to Nunda, NY to trace some more pieces of the history and reached a dead-end. It is refreshing to read your posting and I would like to correspond further. You can send an e-mail directly to me at: demoore2001@msn.com Thanks, David Moore (descendent) Notify Administrator about this message?
