I have found a John W. Parsons in the 1850 census listed with an Edwards family in Breckinridge County, KY. He was probably a step-son as another child was also given at the bottom of the page. I also found a death record for a John W. Parsons, Civil War Soldier, being killed in 1862 and buried in the Danville National Cemetery.
