On a recent trip through the Mohawk Valley in upstate N.Y., I came across many deeds, indentures of land, personal notes, tintype pictures, books, and more recent pictures (late 1800's) beginning with the personal effects of a Christopher Parsons of Enfield CT. circa mid to late 1700's. The items then trace the family through his son Christopher Jr. and then a Lieut. Lemuel Parsons who had apparently moved to Hinsdale (Partridgefield) CT. The newest item I have is an envelope addressed to an Eliza Parsons of Hinsdale postmarked 1901.
