Gary I have just run across your posting of 30 May 2002. I am wondering if you are still working on the Packwood line. I am trying to see if I can find where and when the Packwood and Shumate or Howard lines crossed and mixed. The earliest I have a known Packwood is a Finette Packwood Howard b: 1871. Because the name is not that usual as a given name, I am assuming that some time prior to her birth there was a Packwood in her history. Any help or suggestions?
