1881 Scotland Census shows Edward Docherty Living at Bothwell, Lanarkshire where he was a Platelayer for the Railroad. He was a Boarder at this time but is listed as being born in Ireland. 1891 Scotland Census shows Edward Married to Mary b. 1863 Ireland living at Bellshill Road, Bothwell, Lanarkshire and he was a cforeman Platelayer for the Railroad Children John J. July 27, 1884 d. 1968 Pennsylvania Grace Feb 1888 James Feb 1889 Mary E. 1892 Edward Jan 1896 Joseph P Sep 1897 Those Born before the trip set sail from Glasgow on the SS Furnessia and arrive in New York on March 27th, 1893 at Ellis Island bound fdor Philadelphia, Pa John J. at 57 Years old is Married to Edith Ellen (nee Green) Dougherty and according to his drat card is residing at 510 Elm Ave Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Prior Address is 5348 Chestnut St in Philadelphia according to the 1920 Census John's children are Francis, Edward, Daniel, John, Joseph, James His Siblings are Edward John, Francis Married name Lyons, Edith, married name Marino I am their secon Cousin as my GGrand father John McLaughlin b 1861 in or around Trimragh Letterkenny married Grace Doherty b. 1855 same area. I am tracing this other line in order to get a better handle on my own line in Ireland. Both our Families lived in Bothwell, Uddingston, Lanarkshire from about 1882 to about 1893 when both left for America. Anyone know these lines or want information , Please contact.
