Searching for relatives of Bridget Gallagher who married James O’Donnell on November 3, 1896 in Fintown, County Donegal, Ireland. The family moved to Glasgow Scotland in the early 1900’s. The 1901 Scotland Census has James O’Donnell (age 28), wife Bridget (age 21 or 26), and a 3 year old daughter Annie living at 9 Argyle St, Maryhill, Glasgow, Scotland. Their other children were: Mary (b.1902), Ellen (b.1903) James, Bridget, Rose, Daniel, and Patrick. Mary came through Ellis Island on her own on April 17, 1923. Her point of contact was listed as her cousin, Miss Annie Docherty. Annie was my wife’s maternal grandmother born Annie Doherty in Glasgow, March 1897. She immigrated to the U.S. in April 1921. In America she lived mostly in the Philadelphia area. Her name became Anne Dougherty. She died in January 1983.

Bridget’s husband James apparently died right before the family immigrated to America on November 15, 1924. In the 1930 Census, Bridget O’Donnell listed as a widow age 48, was living at 3242 Dover Street, Philadelphia, PA. Her children living with her then were James (age 24), Bridget (age 23), Rose (age 21), Daniel (age 18), and Patrick (age 16). We have not been able to find a trace of these O’Donnell’s after the 1930 Census.

Thank you very much for reading this summary. Please contact my wife and me if you have any information about this family. Hopefully one day a relative will step forward.
