My Daniel O'Day Sr also emigrated from Ireland. b abt 1830. He married Phoebe Adeline Bennett in July 1858. They had 5 children: William Frank, b 1859, John H., b 1861, Daniel Jr, b 1863, Thomas J., b 1865 and Joseph, b 22 Feb 1871. He was the first white child born in Shenandoah Iowa. Phoebe was not his first wife; he was married before (name unknown) and had three children: Thomas, Hannah and Mary Ann.
The reason I thought they might be the same Daniel O'Day Sr and Jr is that Sr also settled in Missouri, but then moved to Iowa. Daniel Jr.'s wife's name was Carrie Hamilton Bundick Porter.
