My Grandmother, Mary Ellen O'Brien was baptised in Limerick Cathedral in 1891. Her father was Thomas O'Brien. Mary married James Smyth (also known as Irish Actor Brian Magowan) in 1915 in St Mary's Pro Cathedral in Dublin. At that time, it seems the family had moved to Dublin to live in a large house near Phoenix Gardens. James and Mary had 6 children, and moved to London in 1929/30 - family story says that it was supposed to be a stop off before going to the US. They didn't go befause Mary wanted to be near her sister who was also living in London at the time. I am looking for anyone who has any more information on O'Briens from either Limerick, Dublin or London!
