I am trying to locate any of my grandfather, John O'brien's siblings, who were orphaned sometime between 1900 and 1910 in Massachusettes. All the information that I have is my great-grandparents died in a fire and several siblings, along with my grandfather, were placed in an orphanage and then separated.
My grandfather met and married Rose Bischoff before 1920, in NYC, NY, and had 8 children. The story went that my aunts could not find out anything about the family because the orphanage they were in had a fire and the records were destroyed. The only thing I have been able to research was the federal census where I found several John O'briens who could have been him.
I would appreciate it if anyone has any information similar to my earlier account about the siblings being placed in an orphanage after losing both parents around that time.
