John McPhee from Glenelge Invernesshire Scotland was my great great great grandfather who married Sara Mcpherson from the same area in 1822. John and Sara left from the Isle of Skye in 1887 to Australia NSW with their five children (Duncan, Donald, William, John & Flora)on a ship called "William Nicol". They had been pushed out by the English who took over lands. They settled in around Newcastle New South Wales Australia. My Grand father Wallace Hugh McPhee worked on Belltrees/Ellerston station before and after World War one and was in the 1st Light Horse in palistine where he lost a lung but did return. My father Hunter Wallace McPhee was born in Newcastle 1924 and when serving in the Second World War in Darwin Australia married my mother Mary Gertrude McPhee (ne Moten).
I am looking to find any news on the McPhees of Australia and any further information prior to John and Sara McPhee coming to Australia as I'm stuck.
