Hi Margie
I was born Wyllis Cecilia McNinch - my father was a WILLIAM born in Ireland and his father was WILLIAM who was an alderman in the Ballymena town council. There is a footbridge currently under re-construction named after my grandda - this little bridge links Harriville and Ballymena. I too am tyring to trace the Irish Mc Ninch's - my dad is no longer alive and the info i am getting is a bit scanty from relatives. I have a cousin Willis in Ballymena and his mom was a Molly Mc Ninch and she had another brother Arthur as well as my dad William - their father remarried and his second wife's name was MATILDA AND THEIR family comprised BERTIE, TILLY, annie, lena, george - some of whom are still living. Hope this helps - as I said i am keen to learn more but I have only just started - some of the mc ninchs travelled abroad - some to south africa - my dad and his uncle and some to canada - there were quite a number of williams and they were differentiated by the colour of thir hair etc - my dad was red billy and there was a black billy etc.
