Hello Brian

I must be linked to Mungo McNinch somewhere in my past. My Great-Grandfather, Robert McNinch, was born in Ayr & owned a farm in Annbank just outside Ayr. Going by my Father's age - he was born in 1931, at which time Robert was already quite elderly - I would think Robert would be fairly contemporary with Mungo. I am trying to find out what I can before Robert but proving difficult. My brother did some research when buying a kilt & the name McNinch is first found in Ayrshire in the 1700s.

There is a strong tradition of names in the family line with Robert, James & William being quite predominant. Myself & two of my brothers have these as second names. In my immediate family there are five brothers & between us we have produced twelve offspring - six boys & six girls so we're doing our bit to keep the McNinch name alive.

Malcolm
