I am looking for information about my grandparents, Mungo and Minnie McNinch. Mungo was born in Ayr in 1863; Minnie in Ireland on 3/10/1869 (specific location unknown). They were married in Glasgow on 6/22/1898, and thereafter settled in Ayr, where they first lived at 21 John Street. Their first born, William, must have died in early childhood. The next born, my uncle Edwin, was born in Ayr in 1902. My mother, Isabel, was born in Ayr in April 1912. Mungo died at age 53 in Ayr on 9/9/1916. At that time, the family's residence was described as "Red Bungalow, Robsland Avenue, Ayr." Minnie and the surviving children (Jean and Isabel; Edwin preceded them to California)emigrated to California shortly after Mungo's death. Minnie had previous lived at 1012 Page Street, San Francisco, before her marriage to Mungo. Minnie died in San Francisco on 12/29/1940. I'm trying to determine where in Ireland Minnie was born. The 1901 census reports only that she was born in Ireland. I'd appreciate connecting with any McNinches who might have information, and I'd value the opportunity to reattach old family ties. Thanks.
