I have finally traced my McIntyres to Cardinal John McCloskey who was the Bishop of Albany NY for a time. I do believe there is a connection to Dr Thomas Walker and Christopher Gist who were the first explorers of Kentucky.

The McCloskeys are a real connection that can be varified by cemetery records. I have most of what exists of Archibald McIntyre records. The people at the Adirondac Museum were very helpful. The Mcintyres of this family have many branches that are undocumented so the connection could be anyplace.

I still believe the Myers Iron Works in Kentucky was connected to the Elba Iron Works at Lake Placid.
