Lisa,

I see you are new to this. When you post, put in as much information...locations and dates especially...as you can to help others see if they match up to your family. North Carolina is a large state and county information helps to narrow it down a lot.

Anyhow, I live in NC and am also researching McIntyres, but mine don't come from here, so I was just digging around on yours to see what I could find for fun.

Starting with James Irvin, His middle name was also listed as Ervin and Irving in different records.

His father was most probably called Mack, short for McIntyre, and that got entered as Mark on his death certificate. His full name was Malcolm Merchison/Murchison McIntyre. Death certificate lists DOB as 7/16/1889. Married Mary Worrell probably about 1908.

In 1930 census, he is listed as M. McIntyre. Wife Mary. Children listed as Margaret 16, Vance 14, Samuel 12, Irving 9, Janie 6 and Jasper 4. He died 12-5-62 Cumberland County.

Mary Ellen Worrell born 10-5-1891. Died 10-3-1970. She was the daughter of James L. Worrell and Dougal Jane Lindsay according to her death certificate.

Malcolm was the son of Hector McIntyre and Sally/Sarah J. McCaskill. Hector born April 1851, died 10-16-1928. Sarah born about 1853, died 1-10-1926. Married about 1880-85.

They had three children. William Alexander born 11-28-1883, died 12-20-64. Never married. Daniel Archie born 7-13-86, died 2-16-65. Divorced. And, Malcolm.

Hector's parents were Malcom McIntyre and Susan Johnson. Malcom born about 1825+/-. Susan about the same. They were married Robeson County May 13, 1846. Found in 1860 census in Robeson County with Hector 9, John A 4 and Infant daughter 4 mos. Note, this Malcolm never seems to be listed with the second L in his name, so you would probably need to try both ways when searching for him.

It appears Malcom served in the civil war. There are two listings and I'm not sure if that is two different people or the same man.

James Irvin, Malcolm, Mary Worrell, and Malcolms two brothers are all buried at Galatia Presbyterian Church cemetery, Fayetteville. I'll bet there are other McIntyres buried there too. Any of them would probably be your family. Address 8800 Galatia Church Rd, Fayetteville.

Anyhow, this should give you a lot to research. If you live in the area, I don't, go check out the cemetery. If not, maybe you can find someone to take pictures for you. (I can give you leads on how to find someone if you can't go yourself. email me.) Look into ordering records. You can see the death certificates online, but the marriage records will give you more information and all you can see online is the registers. The county Register of Deeds office had birth, marriage and death records, as well as land records. Hope this helps.
