From what we have gathered our original ancestors in the U.S. were John McIntyre and Katherine Colquitt. They arrived in North Carolina in the 1700's and married. He had a son named John and died five years later. His wife married his brother and they had several children. 3 generations later, my grandparents married and were both named McIntyre. They were half third cousins. My family tree is a bush. My grandparents were John Doogle and Katie Naomie McIntyre. They were both born in Miss. They had ten children that lived and they were in order, Jessie Lee, Virgil Thomas,Frank Patterson, Ernest Ray, Myrtis,Mary Magdeline Marzelle,(who is my mother)Jack, John D. McIntyre Jr. and Melvin Eugene.
My grandfathers,fathers name was Cerastus Cole and my grandfathers, mother was a Dunn.
My grandmothers father was Frank McIntyre and my grandmothers mother was a McCaa.
From what we understand our family originated from Isle Of Skye,Scottland.
Some of the spelling may be wrong but the imformation is correct based on some of my families research.
