Archibald McIntyre and Jacob Myers

There seems to be as many people named Archibald McIntyre as there are people named Jacob Myers in America from 1750 to 1900. Although, there is only one Jacob Myers who owns the Slate Creek Iron Works in Kentucky and only one Archibald McIntyre who owns the McIntyre Iron Works at North Elba near Lake Placid NY.

I believe they are connected.

Col George Thompson and Thomas Dye Owings are part owners of the Myers Slate Creek Iron Works in Kentucky. A Dye Thompson is part owner of the McIntyre Iron Works at North Elba.

I have records that the North Elba Iron Works Archibald McIntyre was one of the Commissioners of the Erie Canal Fund in 1817-1819 as the State Comptroller. Martin Van Buren was also one of the Erie Canal Commissioners as the State Attorney General in those same years.

Jacob Myers of the Myers Iron Works had a son William Myers who married Caroline Grundy. Caroline Grundy is the daughter of John Grundy and Elsa McIntyre. John Grundy's brother Felix Grundy is the Attorney General of the United States under President Martin Van Buren.

I believe both Martin Van Burens are one in the same.

I am still looking for the complete family of Archibald McIntyre. I have yet to find out who he is married to, who are his children and who might be his parents.

I have a record that some McIntyre's and Thompson's were captured by Oliver Cromwell's troops in 1651 in the Battle of Dunbar in Scotland. They were shipped over to New England to work as slaves at the Lynn Iron Works.

Thomas Dye Owings of the Myers Iron Works is related to Oliver Cromwell through his father John Cockey Owings and then to John's aunt Susan Cockey married to Thomas Gist brother to Christopher Gist.

Christopher and Thomas Gist's grandmother is Edith Cromwell grand daughter to Oliver Cromwell the Lord Protector of England. Again, one in the same Oliver Cromwell.

I do know a painter named Cromwell painted Archibald McIntyre's portrait which is hanging in the Adirondack Museum.

I sure have a lot of coincidences here and wondering if anyone knows anything about these families.
