I am looking at a copy of marriage certificates for Stanly County, NC for the years of 1851 through 1904. Listed is a James Monroe McIntyre, age 21 yrs. and Margett Lusinday Burris, age 19 yrs. and a marriage date of Oct. 17, 1886. Also listed are the parents of J. Monroe as W.R. & Caroline McIntyre. The parents of Lusinday are listed at Timothy and & Mary Burris. I also have a copy of a death certificate for James Monroe McIntyre, Oakboro, Stanly County, NC. The certificate also states that his dob. was 3-14-1875. His dod. was 2-6-1938.

Here's a little confusion: On the death certificate referred to above it has listed as the parents of James Monroe McIntyre, William McIntyre and Elizabeth Burgess. James was almost 63 yrs. old and the informant was Mrs. J.M. McIntyre, Oakboro, NC. He died from pneumonia and was a farmer by profession and is buried in Oakboro Cemetery in Stanly County, NC.

Does this sound like what you're looking for? Hope it helps.
