Hi all! Just came back from a trip to Kouchibouguac Nat'l Park and thought I'd share my findings with you. They have started clearing a section of William's Catholic Cemetery and have found 38 tombstones, some dating as far back as 1844. It was a hard area to find but with help from the park warden, I was able to find the right "path" and managed to get through to the area. Many of the tombstones, as you can imagine from being buried and moss covered all this time, are illegible but there's one broken in half facing upwards that reads " Daniel McIntyre, son of Robert and Ann McIntyre Died May 16 1875." No other McIntyres are yet found. The other names in the cemetery are Stewart, Allen and Lamkey. Work is scheduled to be completed this fall. There were quite a few McIntyres in this area, hopefully more will be uncovered.
