Kristine as you know I am a direct decendant of Edward and Bridget McKenzie. I have recently done the 37 marker y-dna tests and all my close matches are from Barra. I have corresponded with you in the past and we have both decided that Barra was the most likely point of origin. The circumstances and date of emmigration are unknown to me. There seem to be good records in Barra from 1800 on but I have found nothing prior to that time. I am on the hunt and have been for several years. However my recent tests prove rather conclusively that we are from Barra. I would like any other McIntyre males from Edward to get in touch with me so we can do some cross checking. It is very important for us to participate in these studies as it is the only true way to date to unlock these closed doors. Feel free to contact me at phill@necelticarts.com , also we are without a doubt from Viking decendancy as I am an R1a Haplogroup. If you know any other McIntyre males please have them get in touch with me asap. Thanks, Phill
