Sorry for the late reply.
My John McIntyre Sr. came to Upper Canada in 1825 aboard the Brigantine Niagara, from the Callander, Kilmahog area. There were four children in his family: Peter, John Jr., Elizabeth and James. All of the children of John Jr. were born in Canada after 1828. This helps you only that it is one family that does not contain the person you need. Sorry about that.
