brenda, yes, by all means track down that bible. sounds fantastic! what got me focussed on your email was John (the immigrants son) has a child listed "Levy, b. June 2, 1773" and I thought that was who you were looking for, I guess you are trying to find Oliver's son, Levi, who I do not see listed. anyway, i have reprint copy of 1949 book: The MacIntyre, McIntyre, and McIntire Clan by Robert McIntire Page 161 lists #359 John McIntyre b. Kilmoore, Co Tyrone, Ireland, abt 1678 (this is incorrect, actually 1668 i believe) This John is the immigrant from Ireland in 1718. wife Grace. page 162 lists #360 "John McIntyre, son of John & Grace McIntyre, m. Jan 22, 1762 to Anna Moore. children, first born Pelham, Mass. Oliver b. Mar 3, 1763" (Oliver) "enlisted Oct 4, 1779 and served until Jan 4, 1780 at Springfield, MA in Capt. John Carpenter's Co. of guards ...served June 15 to June 17, 1782, as private in Capt James Black's Co. during the three day alarm at Northampton, MA....It appears probable that he moved to Salem, NY." p. 163 continues with John (oliver's father) service record. (paraphrase) -sergeant in Capt David Shephard's Co. of Minutemen which marched April 22, 1775, in response to the alarm of April 19, 1775 (This was Concord, i believe) -served in Capt Enoch Shephard's Co from Oct 21-Nov 17, 1776 -Aug 17 to Aug 23, 1777 in Capt Shephard's Co. march to Bennington, VT. - lieutenant in Capt James Black's Co from June 12-17, 1782 It sounds like John (Oliver's father, the Immigrant John's son) was the real fighter in the early battles for independence.
