I am most interested (and I bet you are too) in figuring out the ancestors of John and Abigail, and I think understanding the migration of McIntyres from eastern North Carolina might be key at this point. At least, the lack of earlier cemetery and marriage records seems to indicate that McIntyres didn't arrive in Montgomery and Richmond Counties until the early 1800s or thereabouts, so I am imagining that John's (and maybe Abigail's) ancestors came from the east or the north.
