I am carrying out family research for a friend and am looking for information on a Margaret / Maggie McIntyre.
All we know about her is that she was born in Ireland circa 1858 and was married to / partner of a William Dooley.
They had 3 children: Margaret born 4th July 1884 in Ireland, Mary, born on the 22nd of October 1886, birthplace undetermined and William. We have no information on him.
It would appear that at some point the family ended up in Liverpool, where sadly, Maggie passed away during the Sept qtr of 1890.
We do not know what happened to William (Snr), but the children ended up in the care of the Liverpool Catholic Children's Protection Society at 99 Shaw Street Liverpool.
During 1893, the children were sent to Canada - on the Allan Line's SS Laurationm - where they were adopted.
Margaret passed away on the 9th of February 1928. Mary married onthe 24th of February 1908 and died in Montreal Quebec on the 4th of February 1978.
Any help would be much appreciated.
