My grandmother, Margaret EASTMAN (daughter of Arthur SHIELLS and Alice Dow WOOD) had been told by her grandfather to "never forget who these people are"...but he failed to tell her their names. Her grandfathers were James Tait SHIELLS (husband of Janet MUIR) and Daniel WOOD (Husband of Mary Ann DOW). This has always been a mystery to my family. My mom is about 70% sure that the surname of this couple is 'MUIR', but they could also be BOA, DOW, SHIELLS (least likely), McCANDLISH, or anyone who married into that family during the 1800's in the Montreal area of Quebec. If you know or have an idea who this couple is, please let me know! Thanks!
