I'm hoping to find a clue about Adelaide's birth and parents. I found her marriage and 3 births of their children (including my grt grandfather, John who emigrated to Australia)on the IGI. (details below)
On the family's entry in the 1881 census instead of a birthplace for Adelaide it says Brit subt, which I take to mean British subject. Also, her husband simply being abroad is rather curious (and frustrating!). The daughter, also named Adelaide, does not appear on the census but I haven't found a death for her. Any help greatly appreciated.
If you're wondering how I know these are my people, I have my grt grandfather's marriage cert, which gives his parents and POB.
