McIntyre from Ireland or Scottland to TX Mid 1800's

I am looking for any information on the McIntyre's that settled in Texas. As the "family story" goes, my husbands great grandfather was shipwrecked off of the coast of Gavleston, TX where he and his brother saved themselves from a sinking ship by hanging on to a mast, and was picked up by a passing ship and brought into Texas. We believe his great grandfathers name to be William, we have no idea about his brothers name. William had several children the first being born in 1870. His name was Thomas Alexander McIntyre, which is my husbands grandfather. We were told that William McIntyre helped build the Anderson County Courthouse in 1914, in Anderson Texas. If anyone has any information about this branch of the McIntyre's please let me know.

Kathy
